Sheralle and Blake went to Southern Utah just for fun together.

It was at Buckskin gulch (13 mile slot canyon), Johnson's canyon, and lava tubes outside Fillmore.
Sometime, we would like to take the family there for a four wheeling trip.

Sheralle on the Moon/ Blake on Mars

This weekend was really great. Brittany had us over for dinner. She made a new dish that she never had before and it was great. She really has become an amazing cook. It was so fun to be invited over by one of our own children. After dinner we had family scriptures with them and then Katie, Ashley and Erica wanted us to watch The Incredibles with them. What a fun time and a great movie. Blake had seen it before but said I slept through it. I can't believe I slept through it before it is pretty exciting.

Then we spent our Saturday in Salt Lake. We went to Ikea and got some great ideas for organizational things for our study and grand children's toys. It was fun but something we could only stand doing about once a year. We are kind of people that like to know what we are looking for and go buy it not just look for "fun" it's really not that fun for us.

Blake got a 50 cent hot dog and then we ate our homemade lunches on the way to the church history museum. We got to tour it and see what it was all about. Blake loves family history and historical documents and things recorded by those prophets who have past on.

Then we went to the..
this is Sheralle on the moon.
This is Blake on Mars.

We went to the Clark Planetarium and saw all the free stuff.
After that we went to the Apple Store and Blake got to have another lesson on His Apple. Try carrying a 27 inch screen computer around. (It is way Heavy) but we wanted free parking and had found the perfect place so he hauled it there.

After that we went to a restaurant that we had never tried called the Thaifoon. It was fun to try something new.
We then went to the Grand Theater (that isn't that Grande) but it is nice, to watch Kristina perform in the Salt Lake Community Jazz festival. She got to do a scat solo.
We have tried to always be at our children's performances , so the will know how important their activities are to us. We hope they know they are loved. Especially for how many concerts we have sat through.

David's mission call June 2009

We didn't expect David's call the day it came. The postman calls ahead to tell you. Well no call so we thought we had another week. Blake and Sheralle had planned to take Britt's kids to Cherry Hill, and they were counting on it. So we find out in the afternoon, Sheralle ran to the store and bought tons of food - knowing how many friends David has, we just bought allot. He didn't know his call had come until he got home from work. Which left him just a couple of hours to get everyone there. He had somewhere to be later- a party for a friend or something, so we didn't have any idea how many would make it in a few hours. We took the girls to Cherry Hill for a few hours and then ran home for the party. We had the first group of people put their guesses of where he was going.
Luckily it was in the summer so we had a place to put everyone. Here is a small group of the people. David didn't have a group of friends he hung out with. David was friends with everyone. He had friends in all circles, he just has something about him that people love. David is a people person. Even when I run into people at school-students, teachers, counselor's, anyone even if they don't know I am David's Mom they talk about how much the love him.
There were more people there than we have pictures of, we were glad he had so many there, it meant allot to him.

He was way excited to go the Independence Missouri Mission. He wanted to stay in the United States he said "so he could spend more time teaching than trying to learn a language." He got his wish. Not because we are his parents but just because it is true, David has been preparing his whole life to be a missionary. He truly loves the Lord, he loves His children, and he almost always just looks for the good in others and in life itself. He is a walking missionary even to our family with the way he lives. We know he won't miss us too much it's just how he is. "Go and Do" that's David.

We are so happy that his desire to serve was based on his own testimony and not social or family expectations.

Memorial Day 2009

Well Things are out of order because I keep remembering things that we did. Memorial Day is a family favorite tradition. Blake's family meets down in Heber City at the Graves together. They usually tell a few stories to remember Blake's Dad, Mom and Brother and a few others. Then we go to "Grandma's" fast food to get lunch but more especially the most variety of shakes you have ever heard of and usually find a place at the park to eat. This time we went early to do some of the things we took our children to do all the time growing up.
Crystal is a lot like her Dad. She is sentimental.
Everyone was able to come.
Blake has always taken us to see the hot pots. The one they have now turned into a place for swimming. You have to be rich though so we just look.

I don't know if we have a picture of Jeramy without children. He always seems to have someone to hold.
Blake has always had great passion for family history and a love for his ancestors.
We then also usually go to Memorial Hill. You have to go up a winding hill to get to the top where there is a Memorial for military soldiers who died in World War II. Sheralle use to have to get out and walk it because looking down made her sick. We didn't have time to visit that this year.

Family Trip to Island Park

This Summer was great. We were so blessed to be able to have everyone be able to come on our family trip. It's kind of hard when trying to plan around 2 son in laws work schedules but it somehow worked out. It was our last trip really with David there and so we are glad we could make it happen.
Brittany is actually really adventurous although you would not suppose by her mild nature. The pictures are kind of in reverse. After a day in yellowstone and a trip to the playmill theater for guys and dolls- a musical which TRAVIS- actually liked( he says he doesn't like musicals but we are breaking him in)- We went out to eat at a nice place-well as nice as you get for yellowstone.
Travis chased the Buffalo the rest of us just looked at them.
David always ends up on stage when we are at this theater- as a little boy we have a picture of him being kissed on this stage. It must be his natural stage presences. When he was young it was because of his birthday this time they just chose him. He is a true actor and always keeps us laughing.
Yellowstone has beautiful sites but the children can only stand so much. So they went back to the cabin while we finished.
Blake loves being a grandpa and a Dad, there is nothing that makes him happier than to spend time making his family happy.
Jeramy- well his thing is children, he loves, loves, loves, his nieces and they love him.
Travis- his thing is Crystal... He liked the 4 wheeling too...
The day before we had a camp fire after 4 wheeling.
Ryan loves to be adventurous too. He also loves taking pictures- you can't tell but there is a camera on his back.
We rented 4 4wheelers so we could all have a lot of time to ride. There were not as many trails as we hoped for but we still had fun.
I so badly want to buy a 4 wheeler some day. It is the one thing we all love-- besides music. If you want a thrill go for a ride with Crystal- she is a dare devil- unless your a child (which she is way careful with) you may want to think twice before you let her drive you. (Actually she is safe- Just scares us from time to time with her no fear approach).

Thanks to everyone for coming and making it fun.

Kristina Summer Job 2009 at Camp Browning

Yes Believe it or Not Kristina got a job at a Boy Scout Camp. She really wanted it so she thought.

No texting, not much showering, bugs and boys (well she liked the boys)
She learned that camping isn't her thing. But she tried to stick it out the best she could.

David's Graduation

JUNE 2009

David was so involved before his graduation, with excal, play's (Into the Woods) and other drama obligations, that we still need to find the pictures for but- he finally arrived at Graduation Day, ready to move on to the next step of life. He got a job at Tasty's and started preparing for his mission.

One of his good friends Allysa Cawley already out of her grad stuff.

Of course the rest of us were there. Blake and Sheralle chaperoned for his senior all night party.
